"Architect can't force people to connect, it can only plan the crossing points, remove barriers and make the meeting places useful and attractive."

Dotty's Head Office

This project was developed by us for Puan Nadia Nasimuddin’s Dotty’s Head Office located at  Cheras Industrial Park. The idea was to give a raw industrial look. But at the same time, we still need to carry the identity of Dotty’s Cafe itself into this new office. We implemented the royal blue as part of our feature wall in this office to give a glimpse of Dotty’s cafe as the colour royal blue is their trademark colour. We also gave some impact on the floor and certain walls by using a classical type of tiles so that it will create somewhat a sense of fusion in it. The usage of raw timber finishes for workstation will give a big impact to the overall scheme.

We use a cement rendered flooring as it is the easiest in terms of maintenance and it will also it will create the industrial look as what our client requested. For the manager’s room, the usage of framed glass wall is introduced to give a statement on the wall rather than we just create a plain glass wall. As for the ceiling, because of the high volume ceiling, we chose to make it bare because it is definitely the key point to create the industrial look. For the layout, we create a very open layout to give space in case the client wants to expand their number of workers in the future.
