"Where do new ideas come from? The answer is simple: differences. Creativity comes from unlikely juxtaposition."

Dr. Razali's Kitchen

This project is a small scale project but we faced a lot of obstacles in doing it. This is due to the state of the building being a live building which means the owner and the family lives in the building while renovation works is on going. Lots of things needs to be thoughtfully considered, which was the location of the building sited at a residential park and the piping works that needs to be specially taken care of and the recycling of the equipment because of the age of the house being almost 20 years of age.

All these circumstances didn’t stop us to really get into this project and make the best out of it. Although the space is quite small, we still need to make sure the outcome won’t look small so we use white coloured tiles for the walls, floor and the cabinet with a stainless steel colour detailing.

To make sure the kitchen has a warm feeling into it, we introduce timber grain finishes for the bar table as this will also become a preparation table for the owner to use. This somehow gave a very nice outcome. To elaborate a more modern feel, we introduce a shocking lime green for the pendant light to give a focus point once the owner enters the kitchen. Everything was well- planned and everything was tied up nicely and the outcome gave the owner the experience that he wanted the moment he decided to renovate the kitchen.
